About Ms. Elder
A passionate voice teacher and versatile performer, Mezzo Soprano Mary Hewlett Elder is currently pursuing her Doctor of Musical Arts in Music Teaching and Learning at the University of Southern California.
Now based in the San Gabriel Valley, Ms. Elder's previous teaching experience includes collegiate and community teaching, with positions at Vanderbilt University and Pope John Paul II High School, as well as a private studio. Her performance highlights include an international tour to Ireland with the USC Chamber Singers, performing as a soloist with the Nashville Symphony Choir and Orchestra, and membership in the world renowned Westminster Choir.
Ms. Elder earned her MM in Vocal Pedagogy and Performance from Westminster Choir College and her BM in Musical Arts from Vanderbilt University. She is currently studying vocology and voice performance with Lynn Helding at USC.
